If you were to ask a training manger or director if coaching their employees is important, 9 out of 10 times they will respond with a resounding “YES!”
Ask that very same person if they are able to coach their employees on a daily basis and they will say…”No.” These days, there’s not enough time. And normally, coaching seems like a big, involved task. "According to the 2010 Executive Coaching Survey, conducted by the Conference Board, 63% of organizations use some form of internal coaching, and half of the rest plan to. Yet coaching is a small part of the job description for most managers. Nearly half spend less than 10% of their time coaching others." (Forbes, 2010)
