Anyone in the trenches of webinar production has their ratio. It’s the proportion of registrants to projected attendees. Because it’s become a sure thing that not everyone who registers will actually be there.
Why is that?
Anecdotally, we know there are occasionally tech issues preventing people from logging in. We suspect webinars scheduled during the workday are co-opted by shifting meetings while webinars scheduled in the evening run the risk of falling by the wayside of family responsibilities. We hear some attendees forget about the event because it didn’t make it on their calendar. We’re known for chatting around watercoolers about how our attendees are overbooked – stacked schedules mean they can’t keep their webinar commitments and this must be why they ask for recordings.
