Diversity & Creativity: Two Sides of the Same Coin

The 2016 Hollywood movie, The Intern, starring Robert De Niro explores a novel concept of hiring retired senior citizens as corporate interns – something unheard of in the corporate world but not impractical by any means. The plot of the movie banks on the simple notion that senior interns, as opposed to traditional college interns, come with 65 years of experience and a lifetime of wisdom. Irrespective of the entertainment value of the movie, it displayed an example of cross-generational diversity in a fast paced work environment and the positive impact it brought in ways that were previously incomprehensible to the company executives.
