In this episode, I interview Dr. Ana Correia, an Associate Professor in the School of Education and faculty member of the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) program at Iowa State University. The focus of the interview is online teaching and learning. We spend time talking about a variety of issues related to successful online teaching.
The interview begins with Dr. Correia discussing how she became involved online teaching and learning. Following this discussion, Dr. Correia discussed the greatest challenges she sees with online teaching and learning. We also discuss ways in which instructors can successfully transition into online teaching. The next topic Dr. Correia discusses the design of authentic learning opportunities that focus on civic-minded practices. She provides several excellent examples of work from her former students. The interview ends with Dr. Correia providing advice for those who are new to online teaching and learning.
