In this episode, I interview Dr. Kursat Cagiltay who is a Professor in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology at the Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey. He is also affiliated with the departments of Game Technologies, Information Systems, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience and Neurotechnology.
Dr. Cagiltay has undergraduate degrees in Electronics from Bogazici University and in Mathematics from METU. He has an MS in Computer Engineering from METU. He earned his Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University.
Dr. Cagiltay has worked as a systems engineer at Sperry Univac. He has also worked at the METU Computer Center, and he directed a technical team for the Turkish Internet Project. Dr. Cagiltay is the founder of two research groups at METU: Simulations and Games in Education (SIMGE – simge.metu.edu.tr) and the Human Computer Interaction Research Group (hci.metu.edu.tr).
