Unfortunately, workplace violence is becoming a more realistic threat in the United States. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), an average of 551 homicides in the workplace were reported from yearly by US companies from 2006 to 2010. Over the same time period, an average of 408 of the workplace homicides every year were the results of an Active Shooter.
What is an Active Shooter?
An Active Shooter is an individual who is in the act of attempting to kill or harm people with a firearm in a confined or public place. In 2010, 78% of all workplace violence resulting in death were caused by an Active Shooter.
