Meg Veitch, who I am certain is a lovely person with only good intentions, is a graduate student at University of Michigan who teaches what appears to be Environmental Science.

The top image, taken in her class, is going around the internet and it reminded me of some of the complaints of Daniel Willingham and Joelle Renstrom. The implication of this slide that she showed to her class was that students obviously were not paying attention to her presentations. They were doing other things in class, some naughty, some not. Shame on them.

As with Wellingham and Renstrom before her, this slide blames the students and the technology they use.

“How dare they be reading Tumblr when I am professing?” it appears to say. (Willingham once asked why students would be interested in reading their Aunt’s cookie recipe while he was lecturing.)
