Offline Activities with Mobile Devices

“You can see an evident shift from formal curriculum-based learning to informal just-in-time learning, and this is just the beginning!” ~ Pooja Jaisingh

Integrating technology in the classroom does not mean you need an Internet connection. Even without an Internet connection students learn a lot with mobile devices, laptops, and other technologies. Simple cell phones come with the ability to take photos, create videos, record audio, text, and take notes. Students carry these powerful learning tools in their pockets and can capture the learning all around them. Educators can help students experience learning all around them by sending students on learning missions. This summer I will be publishing my new book, Hacking Digital Learning Strategies: 10 Ways to Launch EdTech Missions in Your Classroom, which describes the process of teaching with learning missions in more detail. Below are activities and tips to get you started. Feel free to download the slides and share them with your staff.
