Play 101: The Serious Business of Play

This course has afforded me a new perspective as my own children have already completed this early childhood learning stage and I have personal experiences to bring to this study which I did not have when I completed my undergraduate degree in elementary education. The theories of early childhood development now have a new perspective on what skills and relationship to learning my own children had to develop to thrive in their current schooling. Personally, this course has contributed to my ability to better understand the PK-8 educational system of education. The series of coursework I complete as an area of focus in my program should make me a better leader in my district, able to understand the special needs and strengths of an exceptional early childhood program.
