Background
The internet is seen as the great democratiser that lets tiny companies startup and take on global corporations from their garages.
This is true to some extent, but once these startups ‘disrupt’ the global corporations, have they not become what they replaced to some extent? The internet, whilst democratic at it’s core, ultimately favours monopolies by the fact that it is a single, globally-scalable infrastructure.
An offline equivalent of Uber or AirBnB would certainly crumble under it’s own weight …
