Communication in the digital age has taken on a whole new meaning. Today, in the business world, there are many ways to communicate with a client. Communication done over emails, newsletters, chat sessions lack the human element and it is ever more important to watch your tone and language to communicate effectively.
Just speaking words to a client does not translate to communication. Communication means you and the client have the same understanding of what is discussed, and are on the same page. You may be excellent at your work; you may even regularly email your client to keep them updated. But this isn't enough. A slightly puzzled look on your client's face or a panicked email over the weekend will indicate that you haven't communicated well. Regardless of who your client is, your job is to ensure communication happens effectively.
