51Talk Unveils its Premium Brand
Today, on its one year IPO anniversary, 51Talk announced the launch of its premium K12 brand “Hello World American Academy,” as well as a partnership with several companies to combat the “shady” practices often seen in the K12 education industry.
History
51Talk was established in 2011, and its official website was launched in November of that year, after receiving an angel investment from Xiaoping Xu, the co-founder of New Oriental. In May, 2016, 51Talk issued its prospectus, and on June 10 was successfully listed on the New York Stock Exchange with the ticker symbol COE, becoming the first Chinese online English brand to be listed on the NYSE. Furthermore, worldwide it was the first online education B2C company to achieve this milestone.
