We all have that teacher who permanently changed the course of our lives. Maybe it was just one, or maybe it was a few, but I know there are a name and a memory that instantly comes to mind for you. There is no question that my twelve years of schooling would have been significantly more difficult if it weren’t for my amazing teachers. Upon the completion of every academic milestone from elementary to high school, saying goodbye to my teachers was always the hardest thing for me to do on the last day of school. So much so that in my fifth-grade memoir, while everyone said their goodbyes to recess, I wrote about how sad I would be to leave Mrs. Gorenc and Mrs. Eckert.
In middle school when I had a bad day, I would eat lunch with Mrs. Pacheco or Ms. Girard and I was instantly put in a better mood. Even when I graduated high school, the only time I teared up was when I had to say goodbye to Mr. Lawlor. I could go on for days about the wonderful experiences I’ve had in the past, but I think you get the point: teachers are so important.
