Author Spotlight: Lalitha Venkateswaran

Lalitha is an editor by profession, but her passion for Indian classical art forms inspired her to make a course on Bharathanatyam. To match with the current trends, she combined the traditional art form with fitness to appeal to the masses. Since then, her course hasn’t looked back. What was the reason behind you opting for online teaching?

In general, when we begin an institution for Bharathanatyam, the crowd would include more of children and young adults. Also, they would expect more of a “performance-based standard Bharathanatyam class routine” rather than an innovative one. In order to cater to the needs of people from all age groups and to encourage even the old crowd to take up Bharathanatyam, I thought online teaching would have a better reach. In addition, online teaching gives us an option to experiment more according to the crowd response.
