Camarillo Heights has been using Google Docs for peer editing, as a way to improve student writing. Julie Parker-Plummer adapted the Writer’s workshop model to an online writing tool, and created student lead online peer editing in 5th grade. Students have been providing feedback and comments to each other’s work online, and each student has become and editor for up to 5 of their classmates. The experience increased their writing confidence and their ability to revise their work. Watch their experience and feel free to try it out in your own classroom.
