Let’s talk about motivation for a minute. Conventional wisdom used to be all about command and control, but it has become abundantly clear that that method is pretty ineffective. More recently, managers have shifted to a feedback or coaching based model. Agree on goals, set target behaviors that you want your team members to exhibit, and then give them timely feedback:
