Old students and friends of David Walker, exercise science program chair at Globe University were called on recently to demonstrate their knowledge of current fitness trends as well as lasting techniques and skills to showcase how Globe can serve the greater community through fitness education.
Current and former students taught 10-minute mini classes. Alicia Lipska, a bachelor’s student and manager and coach at 9Round, taught boxing. Terrance Henderson, 2015 graduate and group fitness instructor at Harbor Athletic Club, taught kettle bells. Jill Jenks, current adjunct instructor in our athletic training program, taught TRX; 2016 graduate, Eric Pizer, taught battle ropes. Kelly McManus, 2015 graduate and current yoga instructor at the Janesville YMCA, taught yoga. And Coach Flo, from Endurance House, taught running techniques. These presenters were also helped by some of our current exercise science students Janice Luna-Castro, Kevin Urban, Heidi Reed, Alicia Lipska, January Bahr and Eric Pizer.
