Google Voice Search on the Desktop

Google has been experimenting with voice recognition for a lot of years now. It started with a free 411-like telephone information system that allowed them to understand how speech recognition worked. They were working on collecting enough recorded voices to make those sounds meaningful in their database. Google introduced voicemail transcription in Google Voice and voice search on Android devices.  About 2 years ago, they rolled out voice search to the desktop and it is incredibly underutilized in schools. With so many students who need assistive technology devices, something as simple as searching the internet by voice can be very powerful. As long as you can navigate to google.com, you can search completely hands-free by using the “OK, Google” prompt. Watch the video below to see it in action.
