Recently an outline appeared magically on the left hand side of a Google Doc I was creating. I’m finding this more useful then a table of contents especially while doing research. The outline allows the user to easily find topics within a Google Doc by simply clicking on the topic within the generated list. When clicked the doc locates and jumps to the section. If a doc is created by using headings it generates a logical outline. This speeds up finding the information listed in one’s research project.
