How College Students Develop Effective Habits

Every student should consider how well they are progressing in class. Start by rating your current level of performance and consider if you did your personal best on the last assignment, task, or project. Next, evaluate if the required deadlines were met and enough time was allowed to thoroughly review the assigned reading materials. If there are areas of your performance that need improvement, the first area to examine are the habits you rely upon. It may be possible that ineffective habits are preventing you from doing well, or they are creating a barrier to your success as a student. Once a specific habit that needs to be updated or replaced is identified, you can develop and practice a new behavior.
