How Do You Help the Introvert in Your Classroom?

I don’t like to dance. I don’t enjoy the effort or the way I feel completely awkward and uncomfortable. Inevitably, whenever I attend a wedding, there are people who try to get me to dance. I try to turn it down with a polite “nah” or head shake, but they are usually insistent. I’m sure this has happened to you too if you are like me in your feelings about dancing. The people are usually well-intentioned because they think it will be the reason I am having fun that night, but it usually has the exact opposite effect. It makes me uncomfortable and sometimes causes me to feel guilty or bad about myself.
