In a recent article from The EvoLLLution, Cathrael Kazin, managing partner of Volta Learning Group, wrote about the rise of the micro. Micro homes, micro technology, but most importantly- micro education.
Microcredentials in education have become an inexpensive, time-sensitive and convenient way for non-traditional students to better prepare themselves for the workforce. Rather than investing tens of thousands of dollars in a traditional degree program, students can invest in a micro-program, offering students a chance to learn vocational skills at a fraction of the cost of major college or university programs. In addition to saving students cost and time, Kazin says, one of the major selling points of non-traditional micro-programming providers is that they work closely with some of the most elite schools in the country.
