Understanding the Fatal Four
The construction industry has historically been considered one of the most deadly due to a high rate of on-the-job deaths. According to OSHA, construction-related deaths accounted for 20.5% of the workplace fatalities in the private industry in 2014. A total of 874 workers died in the construction sector. Among these workplace fatalities, four specific causes were to blame for 58.1% of such deaths. These are the “Fatal Four:”
