Humility is a learning super-skill

How do you learn something that you already know? If you think you do, then the gate to learning is shut and you’ll get what you wanted; nothing new. If you leave the gate down and entertain the possibility that you might not know, the learning process can resume. 

Have you tried to share information with someone to help them be more knowledgeable about a situation or offer a coaching tip on a skill? You can usually tell right away if someone is engaged and open to learning something new. Are they listening, asking questions, expressing body language that says “I’m engaged and want to hear more”, etc. When they are engaged, the person is displaying humility in some form by accepting and acknowledging that you have something that they don’t.
