Implementing Interactive Hotspots in the new Camtasia 9

While video can be a great learning tool, there are a lot of things to be careful of. Your viewer may lose interest. They may check out mentally, or assume the information will be given elsewhere. Luckily, TechSmith’s Camtasia offers a fantastic solution, and that is the interactive video.

In previous blogs I’ve written about how to integrate an HTML file with your interactive Camtasia course. I’ve also written about how to set up and use the quizzing feature. We have also hosted Ryan from TechSmith in a webinar about these same topics. This is key information, as it is what makes Camtasia more than a video editor, and an extremely useful tool as a course creation platform.

In the video below, I’ll go through how I used interactive hotspots in my eLearning Brothers production to allow the viewer to be in control of their viewing experience. Something I do not cover in the video is using those interactive hotspots to link to an outside source, though this will be a feature of the completed project. To view an example of that, feel free to jump over and view a webinar I hosted on that subject.
