International Women’s Day – Promoting Education

The education of girls is a subject very much in focus at the moment, and for good reason.  Statistics show that educated girls make the world a much better place – not just for the girls involved but for country in which they live. President Barack Obama recently announced a more focused US government effort to invest in the education of girls worldwide, First Lady, Michelle Obama, is due to embark on a trip to Japan and Cambodia in coming weeks to promote the #LetGirlsLearn initiative.

The example above is just one initative. As this coming Sunday is International Women’s Day with the theme of ‘Make it Happen’ I wanted to write a blog about two females who are inspirational to me in the way they promote education and learning, and strive to ‘Make it Happen’ in their own way.
