La Crosse Vet Tech Students Hold Spay/Neuter Day for Shelter Animals

On Friday, June 3, 2016, Veterinary Technology students and instructors at Globe University-La Crosse teamed up to host a spay/neuter day for shelter animals.

All of the campus veterinary technology instructors participated in the event, as well as 13 veterinary technology students.

“It is definitely a Vet Tech Team event,” said Amy Stinson, the Veterinary Technology Program Chair. “We couldn’t do it without each other and the jobs we each have during the event.”

The team was able to perform one canine spay, one canine neuter, and two feline spays on animals from the Coulee Region Humane Society on Friday.

“Holding this event was a great way to bring class skills together and help animals become a more adoptable pet by spaying and neutering them,” Amy said.
