Massage Therapy Students Meet The Spartan Challenge

Once again Michelle Hanson, program chair for massage therapy at the Minnesota School of Business-St. Cloud campus, brought her students to Rocori High School for the Spartan Challenge.

The Spartan Challenge, now in its fourth year, is an opportunity for students in 10th through 12th grade to come and compete against one another in a variety of weightlifting and conditioning events. This year’s event saw about 150 students from Albany, Alexandria, Annandale, Little Falls and Rocori schools.

Rocori Strength Coach, Jake Zauhar, started this event and plans to keep it going as long as he can.

“Each year we try to get bigger and bigger, but this year we had a lower turnout due to the football schedule being switched up and many schools were hosting their own football camps during the week of the Spartan Challenge.  Since the Gophers, Vikings and HS state tournament are sharing the TCF field, the football season needed to be adjusted,” said Zauhar.
