Susan Kay Olson, RN BSN MSN CHSE
I decided on nursing as a career after my brother had a life-threatening car crash, and I watched as the healthcare team struggled to save his life. Thankfully, Jack, my brother pulled through! I was impressed with the team’s dedication. I wanted to make a difference in the life of others.
Education:
I started out as a 3-year diploma nursing program at Madison General School of Nursing. I loved being a nurse! I worked on a telemetry cardiac surgery floor, and found that nursing was everything I thought it could be!
Then I worked full time and studied for my bachelor’s Nursing degree at UW of Madison. It was tough being a working student, but it was worth it! I found working in staff education that I really enjoyed teaching nursing, and I could reach many more healthcare providers!
