Montage-a-Google

Looking for a creative background image?  Need something bright and cheerful to use as a backdrop to your Powerpoint, Blackboard banner or poster? Have a look at Montage-a-Google.

Grant Robinson’s Google mashup uses Google image search to make a repeated tile pattern based on your search criteria. Searching for “fruit” produces a colourful pattern which could be used in a hospitality course:

Or how about using images of cities or places of interest as a quiz on a travel and tourism course? Which city was used to make this?

The answer is Norwich.

Do be aware of copyright issues with this – the tool is sourcing the images from a Google image search, but is not looking for Creative Commons images – see our article on Sourcing Images.
