Morning think: Great ideas can come from Impulse

This morning saw the beginning of a truly epic flight. The worlds first solar powered plane. Its goal, to fly around the world on solar power alone. Over the next five months it will fly from continent to continent, crossing both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans in the process

Body going where none has flown before Andre Borschberg and fellow Swiss, Bertrand Piccard (get the pun?) will be piloting the craft over the next five days and nights.

There were two things for me (listening to Radio 4 whilst driving to Liverpool) that sparked my interest (other than ITS POWERED BY THE SUN)…

1. The technology used within the craft has the potential to advance an array of things, from the ‘sleep glasses’ which allow the pilots to take quick naps of 20mins, putting them to sleep then waking them up so that they have higher levels of concentration (similar levels are needed to that of round the world yachtsmen/women)
