Moving from PHP/MySQL to Parse

For the last few months, we’ve been working on a complete re-write of our most popular app. MyCQs is a social learning platform which encourages students to create, practice and share Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) tests with each other.

Initially built as a side project, we ran MyCQs on a basic LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack on a shared hosting account. This let us create an app using technology we were familiar with whilst keeping costs down.
