MSB – Rochester Massage Student: ‘Background Does Not Define Future’

For some, a better life doesn’t come easy.

“Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence,” according to a quote from Colin Powell, an American statesman, and a retired four-star general in the United States Army.

Dwan Gregg came from a family of six and lived on a Native American reservation in southwestern Minnesota. Dwan and her two siblings were taken from her home at a very young age and sent to live in a foster home. Dwan ran away when she was 16 and never finished high school. From there, she said she made some bad choices.

Dwan had her first child when she was 21 years old, about a month before she said she ran into trouble with the law. It was at that point she realized she needed to make a change in her life.
