Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific (NCTAMS PAC)

Aloha! If you have been detailed to NCTAMS PAC you are in for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Wahiawa on the Big Island of Oahu.

The NCTAMS PAC base is small, having fewer than 500 military and civilian personnel. This elite team has a very big responsibility. They supervise all electronic communication in the Pacific, not only for the Navy but for the entire Department of Defense. This is a responsibility, by one method or another, that the Navy facility has undertaken since 1906.

Take the time to investigate the facility and don’t forget to use their Facebook page to keep informed about your new home.

Like every PCS assignment, this Hawaiian dream has both great and slightly less awesome aspects.

Off-duty time will be well spent learning about and appreciating the unique culture, history and scenery of the state. Roasting a whole pig underground, learning to surf or snorkel, or peering over the edge of a live volcano create far more vivid memories than playing video games on your couch.
