Newsletters as a vehicle for progressing digital practice

At the end of September 2022 I launched our debut Institute of Health and Allied Professions (IHAP) newsletter.  An idea I initiated early in my role, suggesting it to my head as a useful extension to our department meetings, and to improve general department communications.  Initially it was to be led by a member of our subject administration team.  However, as a digital curriculum lead in the department, I feel it firmly fits within my role.  So I went onto co-collect news, produce, edit and communicate the newsletter, and subsequent news item submission request and feedback forms.

I produced the interactive newsletter using Microsoft Sway, and using the visual embed feature in an Outlook email to distribute across to all IHAP staff members.  The newsletters will be published bi-monthly, but me and my head will review the frequency.  The next one is scheduled for the end of November 2022.  Below illustrates the newsletter structure - I have not included a screenshot due to staff names, personal details and pictures featuring in it.
