A student check-in in a physical classroom takes place daily usually before the student walks in the door or at the beginning of the period. Students share a greeting and how they are feeling through a handshake, high five, or other method. You can also start a virtual lesson with student check-ins. Not only will you really find out how your students are feeling, but you can reach out quickly to those not feeling well. Not only does this help you make deeper connection with students, but your students will appreciate someone caring enough to see that they are okay. The resources and templates below will help you quickly implement check-ins that last 5 minutes or less.
