Reasons to Love Physical Education at FLVS

“In 2012 more than one third of children and adolescents were overweight or obese. Overweight and obesity are the result of ‘caloric imbalance’ – too few calories expended for the amount of calories consumed – and are affected by various genetic, behavioral, and environmental factors.” – Center for Disease Control and Prevention

Are you shocked to hear that information? Our kids are eating too much and not moving enough and it is causing our country to become very obese. I believe that technology has been a major factor in the decline of young people getting up and moving. Technology, however, can also be used to counter this trend. In the P.E. course offered by FLVS, the students get educated on how to live a healthy lifestyle using their electronic device and then are expected to go out, get moving, and develop healthy habits.
