Resistance is Futile: The eLearning Imperative

The back-to-school season conjures great childhood memories. The smell of new leather shoes and sharpened pencils. Picking out the first-day outfit. Breaking in fresh notebooks. Wrapping my textbooks in brown paper sacks. I’m amused how extraordinarily different my kids’ experiences are now. Here’s a peek:

It’s the first Friday of the new school year – we’ve successfully completed one full week! We stop in at Caribou Coffee as a treat. While I wait for the beverages, my kids boot up their laptops. They want to show me the online components of their fall courses. Online textbooks. Online handouts and supplemental content. Online due dates triggering assignment alerts. Online communication tools. Online quizzes and grade books. They easily navigate this space, finding their way as they navigated hallways to find their new course rooms.
