Revisiting Thiagi’s Four Doors Concept

While working for the Corporate Learning & Development department at Novell, quite a few years ago now, we introduced e-learning in the company by applying the Four Doors concept. The Four Door concept was invented by Dr. Sivasailam “Thiagi” Thiagarajan and consists in short of four elements:

The library: the place where you find information about the topic, for example documents and presentations The playground: the place where you can learn about the topic by playing learning games The cafe: the place where you can learn about the topic by discussing it with others The assessment center: the place where you’ll find the test to check if you have the needed understanding of the topic
