The Sony HDR-CX160 camcorder for your classroom – Review

BRIAN’S OVERVIEW
The Sony HDR-CX160 is the perfect classroom camcorder. Between its compact size and ease of use, it can store easily in a desk drawer and be ready to record as quickly as you can flip open the screen.  It also fits pretty easily in a pocket.

I own this camera (actually my wife owns this camera) and we use it for videos & pictures of the kids and take it on vacation.  We record 1080p video and snap pictures simultaneously at a pretty decent resolution.  The photos are only 3.3mp but they are very sharp and plenty big for the 5×7 and 8×10 photos we print.

The camcorder connects with your computer through a USB cable and the included software makes importing a breeze.  This camera needs light though.  While it excels outside and in well-lit areas, it struggles at average or below-average light levels.
