The truth about UK teacher workload

I'm sure you've seen the comments over the past few days from Nicky Morgan regarding banning school emails after 5pm to ease the workload crisis. It appears she's playing the spin game in her role as eduction minister. You may have noticed she's been getting around the country recently to give keynote speeches at education conferences. At each one she's dropping soundbites for the media to pick up on. Now she's dropped a few on us all I'm beginning to think she has no idea what she's doing. I thought it was laughable recently when at the Creative Education Conference she stated the government have no intention of sidetracking arts in schools, and called upon business to do more to get involved and demonstrate it's importance to future employees. Isn't this a government who is prioritising STEM, who has just introduced SPAG tests into primary schools and has done nothing to reverse the march towards high stakes testing as the be all and end all of a child's education experience? It's starting to sound like an episode of The Thick of It.
