One of the main methods of attracting attention is the WOW-effect. It can also be more generally described as the unexpected moment, which is usually not directly associated with the material being studied, but is able to surprise, to initiate involuntary attention and to cause memorization. The WOW-effect is based on surprise that occurs in a response to some kind of aberration.

It's necessary to remember that surprise is rather changeable emotion, that further becomes either fear and anger or interest and joy. It goes without saying that the use of WOW-effect in e-course implies a positive scenario.
