Time to have a meaningful conversation

This is a guest article from Teresa Norman, who set up TogetherintheUK in 2016, following a career of fifteen years in the civil service. As Teresa explains, TogetherintheUK is about “creating a platform where we all learn from each other about living together in the UK”.

At TogetherintheUK,  we try to shed light on the personal stories of people who migrated to the UK,  as we believe that engaging in dialogue and understanding different perspectives takes all of us forward.

This article in particular is about how we engage in conversation with people whose life experiences may be different from our own.

Most people are actually curious about the experience of others, but often we are afraid to start a conversation which may appear rude or intrusive.
