As you already have heard, Millennials are changing everything we used to think about employment. This generation has such unique attributes and preferences that naturally predetermined a shift in US employment history. Now, most Baby Boomers are at or nearing retirement age, which means there are a lot of shoes left to fill. Who’s going to fill them?
By 2020, 75 percent of the American workforce will be Millennials.
Not only that, but this generation is also very value-driven; if their values don’t align with their employers they are likely to jump ship. We’re talking about a generation that embraces “Carpe Diem” in a real way- they believe life is short and they need to make the most of it with each passing day. If they aren’t happy in their job, they will leave.
