Fraud, which is defined as:
“wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain”

Fraud is actually one of the most common types of crime in the UK, and it can actually cost the UK billions of pounds per year – the average cost of fraud in the UK is at £190 billion per year, and the impact it can have on both vulnerable victims and businesses can be devastating. In fact, according to the Telephone-operated Crime Survey for England and Wales (TCSEW) there has been a 4% increase in the total number of fraud offenses referred to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau over the last year.
