Recently, I was challenged to find a solution for the Howard County Public School System’s 2016 ESP Conference. The event organizers had far more attendees than the room would hold so they needed an overflow room. It was a fairly simply solution. I would hard-wire a feed from the main room to the overflow room. It would be a single camera production using a wireless lav for audio. No sweat.
A few days later, I received another phone call informing me that due to high registration, a second room was required and this room would be located on a different floor. Challenge accepted.
It turned into a two-camera shoot (one tight on the speaker and one unmanned wide dump shot) using our mobile production system powered by the Newtek Tricaster 410. All of the speaker’s slides and videos that would be shown during the presentation were loaded into the Tricaster. As the speaker switched slides, I would switch them as well and take the slide full screen. This allowed me more flexibility and far better quality than simply shooting off the screen.
