Urban Farming, in school

Ive been a fan of Aquaponics for a long while now (growing plants in water which is fertilised by fishes, the plants filter the water providing a clean environment for them). Its great to see the development of sustainable living ideas, especially the teaching of sustainable food being integrated now into curriculum around  the world.

In this months @WiredUk magazine there is a great article on the “farming kindergarten” from Vietnam.

@pipkinzoo is doing similar projects in her school, delivering what I see as a unique, vocational approach to teaching students about where there food comes from. Contact her on twitter to find out more!

Ive heard about @Farm_Urban who are doing similar things with schools and businesses in Liverpool. I’m looking forward to visiting them to see how I can improve my own setup!
