Using DIY Videos in e-Learning

According to Statista, there are over 2.1 billion smartphone users worldwide. Of that number, 207 million of them are located in the United States. I assume if you’re working in e-Learning, you are one of those 207 million!

Smartphone owners take lots of pictures and videos as they go through their daily lives and I’m no exception. For example, I was out for a walk and took a short video of a small creek running under a bridge at my local park.  At the time, I had nothing specific in mind regarding how I might use it and just stored it away in my graphic assets folder. Fortunately, a new Articulate challenge titled, Record, Edit, and Share Your Own Stock Videos for e-Learning, (#166) came along.

The goal of the challenge was to record one or more short, looping video clips to use in e-Learning. If you were up to the task, you could also build a simple slide or interaction to show how your video asset could be used. Here’s what I came up with.
