Using States in Storyline 360 to Fix Missing Digit in Output

I really enjoyed working with Storyline 360 to create a recent prototype interaction of an analog clock. If you missed the post, check it out here. While creating this prototype, I ran into a problem with a “missing digit”.

For the prototype, I used two dials (e.g., DialHr, DialMin) which created variables for the hour hand and the minute hand on the analog clock. When displaying the minute hand variable as text (e.g., %DialMin%) on a feedback screen, I noticed that it would show a single digit for the minute value (see below). For example, 3:05 would appear as 3:5.

After thinking about how to solve this and looking at javascript as a solution, I posted on the Articulate eLearning Heroes Forums asking for help. Thanks to Michael Hinze who gave me a simple yet elegant solution to the problem.  I realized I was “overthinking” the whole thing.
