Video Peer Review

I often find that when writing, I have a hard time editing what I have written. On pieces that I write for the Howard County Public School System’s Department of Communications for purposes of outreach and communication, I send them to one of a couple outstanding editors that we have in our department.

Video is the same. Once I complete editing a video, I have a very difficult time stepping back and looking for ways to improve upon the overall piece. I am too close to it at that point.

What I do is use Dropbox to share my video with my colleagues. Some are video professionals – some are not. I like a variety of viewpoints. When their feedback comes in, I consider all of it. Not to say I make all of the recommendations that they offer, but I at least consider them and often their ideas trigger a better idea in my mind.
